Ever had an idea of how something should go, and then it doesn’t go that way? You’re not alone. Here’s what I did today instead.
If you prefer reading to watching, here’s the transcript:
Well, hey there. It’s Kristen. Welcome to Day 24 of Love Thyself: 30 Ways, 30 Days.
You know, today, I just have a quick message for you. You know, I had a thought about what I would record for today, and the message I would share. And I brought my little … cute little dog Clifford … with me today, and he was in his carrier sitting next to me. And as I was doing the recording that I had planned on doing, he was in his little carrier squeaking and wanting to get out. You know, it’s a beautiful day out here. You can see him sniffing the air and just loving being outside.
So, rather than continue to get more frustrated that I couldn’t get through my video that I wanted to get through, I went ahead and let him out of his carrier. And it made me realize, you know, that sometimes what we plan is not really what would serve us to do at that moment.
You know, I think today, for me, just letting Clifford out of his carrier, sitting here enjoying, and offering you this message as it is, is probably what needed to happen. So, just a word of encouragement that sometimes when you’re working on something and you’re going in a certain direction and you have plans and you’re, you know, trying to force them to happen and things keep interrupting and, you know, it just becomes nearly impossible to get it done the way you thought you’d get it done — maybe that’s a sign or a signal or a little nudge that, you know, it’s OK to kind of take a pause, to take a breath, to kind of stop and listen for maybe a way through that might lead you to an even better result.
You know, sometimes we do have to push through and kind of make things happen, and other times I think we’re invited to just pause … pause (Clifford comes into the picture) … enjoy, and just be in the moment, allowing it to be just what it is. And wonderful things follow from just being, and when doing can follow being without forcing it to happen, doing follow being in a very harmonious, easy, peaceful, joyous way, and it’ll get done. And it’ll get done with a lot more ease and grace and joy for you along the way as well.
So, thank you so much for joining today. It looks like the wind has joined as well. I will see you next time. And, also, before I close, I would like to offer you a free gift, and that is an hour of my time for a coaching session to help you gain clarity about where you’re at, where you’d like to go, and how we might be able to work together to help you get there. So, if you would like to take me up on that offer, please reach out to me here on Facebook and I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you so much, and I will see you next time.
